Empty Post.

No idea WHAT happened to this post. I was so glad to log on and see it was empty. Hmmm... guess my lack of sleep is catching up on me after all.

Abbs has 4 teeth. Teeth 3 and 4 just graced us with their presence this last week...which has resulted in a much whinier, clingier baby than we are used to. She sure does LOVE them chompers though, and has bitten us a few times to test them out - and YES those suckers ARE sharp.

She is still refusing to crawl like a normal baby, and uses a modified "scootching" method to make her way around - UNLESS she is on our bed, and then shes a moving machine.

She is an eating machine...some of her favorites are Squash (LOVES), green beans (LOVES), hummus (LOVES), plums/pears/bananas/mangoes (LOVES), and she's pretty into Puffed Wheat...but her favorite is still her rice cereal, she'll eat it every.single.meal and wants ALL of it. The only thing she still isn't fond of is peas...but really...who loves steamed strained peas?

She's developing SUCH a little personality and with allll the good comes the bad...and she can throw a tantrum like nobodies business. It's funny... no one ever showed her how, I guess it just comes natural to all kids. She loves to torture poor Weston, but if he licks her she HOLLERS at him and he knows she's mad and usually leaves her alone...classic can give it but doesn't like to take it back syndrome.

We're still loving taking photo's of her... I've been trying to work a bit on my photoediting... it's definitely a learning process, but it's been pretty fun figuring out how to tweak things. Here is a recent (it was my first "true full edit") which was a little heavy, but I still kinda like it.

Stay tuned for a whole post dedicated to pictures... :)

ThrowBack Tuesday.

****Warning******* Graphic photos ahead.....MARY, you may not want to look!*****

So... I am still here, but haven't posted as I was going to switch programs to use Photoshop CS4 and it will not recognize my RAW photos... which are uploaded as NEF files...we've tried everything and nothing will work. SO...it's off to find a different program - I think I'll just end up going back to Lightroom....or Elements even. I don't need anything too fancy.

Anyways, I was looking through all my old pictures and decided in honor of spring, I was going to do a ThrowBack Tuesday, and show some pictures/stories that you may not know.

How about this; Did you know that:

When I got married I used a French Manicure sticker set? And one of the stickers peeled off so I hid my finger (thinking it would make a better picture)...should have just left my finger normal, and no one probably would have noticed.

Photobucket

Or, that we thought it was beautiful to take pictures on the grounds of the Veteran's Hospital...until we were told by the police that it was illegal to take pictures there (we had no clue!...dumb Canadians, lol)! Did you know I had a hilarious bridesmaid with PURPLE HAIR?
Photobucket

Ha ha, I love this photo.
Photobucket

Did you know...

Sometimes, I think my husband is embarrassed to be seen in public with me.
Photobucket

and I`m not really sure why.
Photobucket

Did you know when Tammy took this picture of me almost 4 months pregnant:
Photobucket
I thought I was huge!!!

..And here I thought I was tiny, lol!
Photobucket

Did you know being pregnant was glorious, and this gives me HORRIBLE baby fever
.
Photobucket

Did you know that I was terrified of meeting my baby...and terrified we would end up with photos like this one:
Photobucket ...and we did.

I don`t look at this photo very often: Photobucketbecause A) I think it`s a horrible photo. B) I was SO sure the baby was going to be a boy - I was shocked! and C) I was in such SHOCK from what I had just gone through and I was SO angry with the world (telling me it wouldn`t be THAT bad) at what had just occured that I didn`t ``enjoy`` meeting her the way I should have and a small (...huge) part of me feels guilty. D) This was all the `smile`I could muster at that moment.

Did you know I look at this photo ALL THE TIME.
Photobucket
I`m so facinated that something so disgusting was her lifeline. I feel like I owe it a huge thank you, or a gift or something...It truly is amazing...AND to be 100% truthful - I had HAUNTING dreams of forgetting to deliver the placenta, so I needed proof that I did.

Did you know that sometime in early afternoon Tammy, Mike and Christa brought me a Booster Juice...and AFTER I delivered the baby I drank it... after midnight. I found it sitting right there, and I was thirsty so I drank it....and I didn`t tell anyone.
Photobucket

Did you know that I thought this little face looked like an Inuit baby and couldn`t figure out why... Photobucket

...until I saw this picture...Photobucket
...taken right after Ty named her. I had chosen the boy name, and so Ty chose the girl name....and it suits her perfectly!

Did you know I was CONVINCED I was close to death the night I had the baby, and seeing this....Photobucket ... I feel I was right!

I can`t believe how swollen I was from all the fluids... look at my hands!
Photobucket

Did you know:

..he was smitten with her right away!
Photobucket

...and that I desperatly miss this tiny thing ( who at the time, felt anything but tiny!)!!!
Photobucket

Can I tell you what a feel-good moment this was to see this 5 days after I had her and know I somewhat still possessed a waist!
Photobucket

Did you know... I`m horrible at keeping things alive and did fairly well with these...oh good I`m now getting É instead of a question mark!!!

Photobucket

Oh, how I miss her...but I love her now.Photobucket

Did you know.... that is one of my favorite pictures of her...
...it makes me smile each.and.every.time.I.see.it!!!!!

I think all of you should do a ThrowBack...enlighten the rest of us. Heck, throw a few curveballs out there and surprise the heck out of us... I double.dog.dare.you!

To Grandmother's house we went.

This is Habbs.
Photobucket

And this is Habbs with her Great-Grandfather.

Photobucket

It's amazing to me that he hasn't changed one.iota for as long as I've known him.

He sings to her the same songs I can remember him singing to me..

Photobucket

..and dances the same way I remember him dancing...

Photobucket

...and makes the same hilarious faces...

Photobucket

and I know the other grandkids know exactly what I mean...

Abby and I had such a lovely visit with our (great)grandparents (Grandma declined a photo-op)...

we did a puzzle (in record time), ate wayyy to much delicious food,Photobucket,

collected scraps for the compostPhotobucket,

watched some movies, went for a walk or two, toured around to see what was new in town, searched the house for hidden treausres
Photobucket

and did a few crosswords.

Visiting them is like a trip back in time, and it was fabulous...no they are fabulous.

And this is fabulous...
Photobucket

Two of my favorite people sharing a special moment...that I intruded on.

Photobucket

I wish I could bottle this moment and pull it on a rainy day!

Almost a month!?!? REALLY??

Ugh, I have NO idea where the time has gone... Okay, that's a lie. I know exactly where it's gone and today I will blog about it!!

We left home two weeks ago today, and we had the most beautiful drive!!! I was so tempted to stop and take some pictures, but we only stopped three times in the 9 hour drive. Once for gas, and and the other two times Weston had a pee, and I fed and changed the baby quickly. The weather has been beautiful since we've arrived, and I am not sure which of the three of us have had the most fun being outside....
Photobucket

(Gosh I could just SQUISH those cheeks....and sometimes I do)

Photobucket

but I guess I could say Weston probably has enjoyed it the most.

So, we've been getting out on tonnes of walks...can I mention how UN-FUN walking up the hill to the house is pushing the stroller (you've got to see the incline of the road to understand...hmm...tomorrow I might take a picture to show you how nuts it is). And I'm not ashamed to say, I loop the leash around the handle so he can help pull.

Photobucket

Sigh....she's such a beauty sometimes :) She truly does melt my heart a little bit.

Photobucket

Valentines Day Abby's first tooth really cut through...sharp as a snaggletooth!! However tempting it may seem do not put your finger in there, because I will not pay to fix the damages. And today while staring into her gaping mouth I noticed tooth numba TWO is working on breaking through the skin. when.did.my.baby.get.so.freaking.big?!?!!?!?! She is rolling both back to front and front to back...though only when she chooses to. Most of the time she thinks it would be better for me to fetch her whatever toy is just out of her reach and grunts/squawks until I give in. She can sit for about 30 seconds unassisted...sometimes longer, sometimes she just bends in half and chews her feet - depends on her mood. But lay her flat on her back and she's picking up her head and trying her best to do a sit up. She can skootch her way around on the floor....usually going in a circle and backwards are her specialty. She has also learned and is working on perfecting her ability to blow raspberries...
Photobucket.

I'm not sure why - but a million liters of spit is required to be blown everywhere for it to be a "true raspberry"... YUCK.
Photobucket

Ha ha, I think she should open a Kissing Booth!!!!

Photobucket

Hm...thanks GRANDMA for teaching her that one. She also takes her hand and hits her mouth and goes "aye, yie, yie yie"... sometimes she gets a little too into it and really smashes her face - and then looks at you and cries like you've punched her in the face.

We're still here for a few more weeks, and word on the street is our reno is in full tilt. I have no other news on that front...but I am very, very, very excited to see the end-results. It's going to be so weird to not be here, however, I must say after not spending more than a week at home for almost 4 years, it has been oh.so.nice. to stay for a while!!!!

Photobucket

But that being said, we really do miss Daddy

Photobucket(I really wish he was here to push the stroller up that hill, ha ha). But we know we have the better end of the deal, we would not want to be stuck up the mountain all night, in what looks like an ice-fishing tent in the cold!! But...it would be pretty neat to see some of the events. I would love to see someone go down on the Bobsleds.

Ty's got tickets to tomorrows Gold Medal Skeleton event, and also to the Gold Medal Bobsled event. Should be fun to be a spectator and not working!!!! So, watch for him on TV, maybe he'll make it on!

Photobucket

Well, until next time...which shouldn't be long now that I figured out how to hook my computer up to the internet here.... I'll just say goodbye, and here is a raspberry from Abby to all of you! Photobucket

I couldn't last a week...

I tried... I really did. But couldn't last the week without a post of some kind. So I figured, how about the rambling kind! We've been busy busy getting ready to vacate.the.premises. But we've also been busy having a lot of fun.

Tonight I will share tantalizing tales of.... poop?

Do you all remember this contraption???

Photobucket

Well, I'm starting to think the books/papers in the bottom was a great idea.

Photobucket

Good thing I moved them....two days before it was christened with poop.

We've been adjusting Abby's bedtime...and by adjusting meaning shes.been.running.the.show. So, we've been finding Abby passed out in the oddest places with the oddest faces lately. She might kill us for these in the future, but we find them adorable and endearing.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And, when favorite toy is torn from her grasp, she assumes this "comfort position"...
Photobucket

Usually her hand is up on her forehead, but sometimes, this is as far as it makes it.

We're going to see how much her hair grows in the month we're away from Ty...
Photobucket

The back...
Photobucket

Annnnnnnd sound asleep.....
Photobucket

Ha ha, Daddy was mocking her... She totally doesn't get it.
Photobucket

When did she get SO LONG?????
Photobucket

Oh, did I mention at her four month appointment for her shots she was 15lbs 7oz and 26.5 inches long?

Most days her eyes are so.dark. that I love to dress her in of blue, as
it brings out the tiny bit of blue that hides in there.

Photobucket

OH I almost forgot we got our first wound.
Photobucket
...and survived.

We chilled with The Tam and her terrific tickets.
Photobucket

She wasn't excited at all...
Photobucket

She was going that evening to enjoy super great seats...
Photobucket

...at a ridiculous price!!!!
Photobucket

I told her to practice her Sheldon-call.... ha ha...she'll totally kill me for this one.
Photobucket

But it's worth it...and I know she doesn't check the blog, ha ha.

Photobucket

OH and check out our new Nanny Cam
Photobucket

Ha ha...just kidding. Thats not it.

This is...
Photobucket

ps. AND we had delicious Steel Cut Oat and Flax pancakes. YUM.
Photobucket

(It's B.'s recipe and boy is it good with some peanut butter and a smidge of Mrs. Buttersworth - my guilty pleasure!)
