Two weeks already!!!!

Has it really been two weeks since I spilled the beans on this blog that nobody reads??? We went on Tuesday to my Doctors appointment, and heard Barry Manelow's heartbeat. It was such a relief, rush, INSANE moment. It's nuts to know there is actually a baby in there....here I thought it was all due to my insane.addiction.to.food. Phewf. ALSO in important news, I misheard the doctor at the last appoinment, and she set me straight this time - I've only gained about 6 pounds. BRING ON THE FROZEN YO...apples I mean.

I'm still feeling fantastic for the most part, and so far am really enjoying being pregnant. I can't wait to really start feeling Barry Manelow. I've had a few blips that I think might have been him/her, but I'm not 100% sure...heck knowing me and my FIBER intake, it was probably just gas ha ha.

The ultrasound is scheduled for the end of this month, so if I post again in two weeks, I might even have a picture or two to share with you all:) Wow....hold back your excitement - MOM as your the only one who knows we still update this site every now and again! Ha ha ha...

By the end of this week, Barry will be the size of:

Creepy how I'm addicted to ORANGES, and Barry Manelow is the size of one...does this make me cannibalistic?

Although many women don't start feeling the baby move until the 17th week (or later), your baby has been having his own party in the amniotic sac he calls home. If you feel a little flutter in your belly this week, don't discount it as gas or hunger. It could be your babe banging around. Here's more to look forward to:Baby's head is now resting on his well-formed neck instead of directly on his shoulders like Igor. He's beginning to grow eyebrows and eyelashes this week. (All the better to give you that "Mom, you're crazy" look when he's a teenager.) The hair on the head also begins to grow and, with some creative styling, you'll be able to turn those locks into a Maddox Jolie-Pitt faux-hawk some day. Although baby's eyes are sealed shut, he's now able to sense light. His eyes and ears finally look like real baby features now. As your baby practices sucking and swallowing actions, he may actually hiccup. You'll know he's had one too many shots of amniotic fluid by the steady thump-thump you feel.

Calling all Barry Manelow Fans!!!

We thought we would post the news *not that anyone checks this as we never update the blog*, but we are expecting our first bambino in September 2009!!

I am gaining weight like a hot tamale - so far its all in my belly and my boobs. So far so good, a little bit of Gaggy-ness here and there, and boy they don't kid around when they say your tired in your first trimester - but now that I'm in the second trimester I'm feeling 100%! It's nice! My husband would probably tell you that I have had a couple (and I admit to one or two) "somewhat odd, maybe uncalled for" hormonal moments - especially when it comes to poor Weston and the amount of hair he leaves in my house!! I just don't think I am believer in large inside dogs, and I know that I am not made out to be a large.inside.dog.owner. I have yet to find someone who can keep their home hairless - and whoops besides that rant, lets just say come spring Weston will discover the LOVELY BACKYARD at our house:) However, we have purchased a Roomba and while it wouldn't do the job of SOLE vacuumer at my house, its a nice addition and helps out quite a bit keeping the main floor hair-free!!!

Here is a picture taken at the beginning of my 13th week.

We're pretty excited. Our Fetus-name that we have been referring to the baby as whilst in Utero has been Barry Manelow! It's pretty catchy! Ha ha... and no, Lola is not on the "Baby Name List".

I've been busy still curling, and still commuting the hour and a bit each way to work every day - I'm looking forward to not having to drive next winter:) We have our curling bonspiel this weekend coming up, and then its play-offs for league play. It's funny because usually I am the most competitive person and usually play only to win, but with curling, I really enjoy the social aspect and don't have that drive every week to dominate. Hmm....maybe I am mellowing in my old age! Ha! I need to find a new Tuesday night passtime for next winter though!!

Ty has been working alot...and alot of overtime. Great news for us once it comes time for the baby to arrive - he has tonnes of OT banked, so he'll be able to take off some time and just relax. I know he's hoping to Farm (the guy REALLY loves to drive tractor etc...who would have thought!) this fall again, so between harvest and the baby he'll get a nice break:) Hopefully the baby holds out till the end of harvest:)

We're headed back to Florida in May again for our last family vacation as a duo - crazy! Its nuts to think that we leave in less than 60 days for holidays (yes, I'm counting - its March and winter is still in FULL swing!), and then when we get back, I only have 90 more days until I am off work -CRAZY. When I think of it in that perspective, it feels like I don't have much time at all!!!

The end of this week Barry Manelow will be the size of a:

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

Wedding Pictures FINALLY POSTED..

Here they are after two long months...
Our pictures were done in a beautiful park (which I could tell you was part of the Veteran's Hospital, but it is NOT legal to take pictures on their grounds..... so I wont say a word)
My beautiful bridal party - Melanie (Ty's sister) and Maureen made the bouquets -they were perfect girls...much better than my one.tall.droopy.flower idea!
Ty's t-shirt that he thought was hilarious....
Some randoms that we played around editing - dont worry you guys will get the plain ones - we wont force our wacky editing ideas on you!

Me and Mary taking the loooooooooooooooooong walk.
Annnnnd this next one is what you look like after you are Wind-Battered!

HA... I love you girls!! I still think we should have all gotten the moustache shots!

This is my favorite shot of Ty... though I do think the trees to the right look like a big pair of walking legs and a ......oh HEY look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up and you'll find Rusty!

Please do stay tuned. We have an update and more pictures for everyone!!!

I know, I know.... A long awaited update.

Hullo folks,

Judging by my email-inbox full of "WHERE'S YOUR FREAKING UPDATES" emails, you noticed I didn't have my computer this week.

This might have to be a two parter as we did allllllllllllot this week.

Monday morning we left for the Kennedy Space Center with Ty's dad Bob and Susan. We spent the afternoon there (the shuttle that leaves at the end of the month is already on the launch pad being ready-ied). We hit the beach for some shell hunting as the shells in Cape Canaveral are quite different than the shells found where we are on the Gulf of Mexico.

Then Tuesday till Friday we did the Disney Parks.... Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We stayed at the Saratoga Springs resort - which is modeled after some of the resorts found in Upstate New York in the early 1900's. Very busy four days. (updates will come with the pictures - which are on our camera still with Ty's dad).

Friday afternoon we drove to Daytona Beach and stayed at the Hilton right across from the racetrack. Now it was a really nice hotel... so I was expecting a nice looooooooooong peacefull night sleep, as I am sure many of you would. So i'm fast asleep in my nice bed when about 1am a siren goes off and white strobe lights are blasting in my eyes - for about 15 seconds. Then everythings dark - and I've had a heart attack.

Ty basically woke up rolled over and went back to bed (his bed was on the other side of the room - so he didn't get quite the view of the strobe lights)... meanwhile i'm panicking thinking, maybe thats the Florida Sign for Tornado and we're about to die.... And after about 15 minutes of searching for the reasoning and Ty telling me to go back to bed, I finally fell back asleep............

30 minutes later..............S I R E N and FREAKING STROBE LIGHTS......................

Apparently if you have the air conditioning on to high down here ( I know most of you don't believe I'd sit in an air conditioned room) it sets off the fire-alarms. LESSON LEARNED... ( THATS WHY NICOLE CONTROLS THE THERMOSTAT!)

But... I think the hot tub is calling my name, so I will finish this later or tomorrow with pictures. I hope alls well back home, and i'll see some of you in the next few days.

Rest Easy...The RING HAS BEEN PURCHASED!

Ha ha...for those who know us well you know ALL about the ring dilema. Well, no more my friends... I won't be posting a picture of it just yet... I think it's better to be surprised about some things. So I guess I won't be borrowing Maureen's rings after all! Ha ha ha.... Oh and I should note, in true Nicole fashion we did end up buying the FIRST ring(s) I tried on. Ha - I don't know why I don't just trust myself and save the time and always just buy the first thing. I NEVER find anything I like better by waiting.

Today was a day of shopping, so no pictures. We actually spent just about all day shopping AND it was hot out (very unusual for any of us to give up a bit of sun for any reason), but we did get some great deals.

Ty's dad and Susan get here tomorrow night and we're going touring around with them for a few days to see some sights (so those days we should have some great pictures), but I think
We also dropped Ty's suit and my DRESS off at the cleaners - boring information for some, but IMPORTANT facts for others.

Still no "Tree's" Joce... But then again, if I had a tree that looked like that I'd probably hide it pretty well too. I'm thinking I might just print out a picture and take it around - its a hard tree to describe seriously to someone. (the closest thing i've seen are some dudes on the beach - but that'd be an awkward picture to request...let me know what you think).

*There was NO RANDOM act's of Lettucing today........ The joke is still not that funny.....

Day 2 Already!

Wow...Time sure flies by when your having a good time!!! And let us tell you.. It has been great so far!! The weather has been HOT - such a nice break after the loooooooongest and colddddddddddest winter EVER!!! (I do get some weird looks sitting in the hot tub when it 90 degree's out... but it's just so nice to finally be warm!!

*DISCLAIMER - NO SPELL CHECKING WILL BE DONE -SORRY CHRISTA!! BAD GRAMMER ALERT!

Wednesday we were disappointed to wake up to rain/snow in Tofield... quite cold and miserable... But the cold was soon a distant memory. The flight was quick from Edmonton to Minneapolis - we had awesome seats - huge plush chairs... very posh. Upon arriving in Minneapolis we discovered we didn't have as long of a walk as we had thought - that airport is HUGE; and we only had 25 minutes from landing till our next flight, so by the time we arrived at our next gate they were boarding 1st class already. And we ran into Mary, my mom and a couple of the friends - the bloody liars had told us they were coming a day later - NICE JOB to those of you who had anticipated the surprise!

We got to the condo about 12:30 to find the complex all locked up - and of COURSE there was NO one on their patio's and all the lights were off - apparently early to bed, early to rise is a true statement here! Anyways after about 15 minutes of trying to break in using a credit card and trying to guess the code for the key-lock( yes we were desperate, and NO the COP had no luck breaking in), we found a 24 hour help line and they gave us the password for the key-lock.
DISASTER AVERTED!

*NOTE TO SELF - NO ALCOHOL SOLD AFTER MIDNIGHT AT THE CIRCLE K.

Thursday was spent basking in the sun by the pool - 90 degrees of delicious sun rays...and I basked in the Hot Tub. And dinner at Shell's was EVERY BIT as amazing as it usually is. The margaritas haven't changed.... (is it wrong for Ty and I to try to find an American Husband so we can stay here forever?)... HEY if you tried one of these drinks, you'd want to stay too!!

THEN today (Friday) we spent on the pier fishing. Once again Nicole was the MASTER FISHERMAN - 2 years in a row. Unfortunatly the jerks I'm fishing with wouldn't take a picture of my two monsters... but I do have some to post of some the other people caught. A hammerhead shark some guys caught (note there are SWIMMING PEOPLE beside the pier...), and a Mackeral my mom caught. (I'll have to post the pic's later as im not sure where the computer cable is!).

No idea what's on the agenda for tomorrow - thats kinda the nice thing about life down here - slow pace and no plans....and lots of cold drinks.
